Healing Beyond Words: What Does it Mean to Be Trauma-Informed?

Being trauma-informed means understanding that trauma impacts the body, mind, and emotions in ways that can be unpredictable. At Embody Your Essence I take a holistic, body-based approach to trauma recovery, recognizing that healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about releasing, rewiring, and reclaiming yourself.

Trauma isn’t just a memory—it’s something that lives in the body. It shapes our thoughts, our nervous system, and it informs how we move through the world. Often, we try to “think” our way through pain, only to find that the patterns of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm continue to cycle through us. That’s where trauma-informed healing comes in. At Embody Your Essence I take a holistic, body-based approach to trauma recovery, recognizing that healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about releasing, rewiring, and reclaiming yourself.

What Does It Mean to Be Trauma-Informed?

Being trauma-informed means understanding that trauma impacts the body, mind, and emotions in ways that can be unpredictable. It’s not just about what happened to you—it’s about how the body holds onto the experience. A trauma-informed approach ensures that healing happens at a pace that feels safe, with tools that gently regulate the nervous system, rewire limiting beliefs, and restore a sense of empowerment.

How I Use Trauma-Informed Practices to Help You Heal

In my holistic practice, I integrate evidence-based and holistic healing modalities that support deep, lasting transformation.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) – A proven method for helping the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional distress. This technique allows you to move through past pain without having to relive it, creating space for new, empowered beliefs.
  • Somatic Therapy – Trauma is stored in the body, not just the mind. Somatic practices help release stored tension, regulate emotions, and create a sense of safety within.
  • Intuitive Coaching – A soul-centered approach that blends mindset work, inner guidance, and spiritual wisdom to help you reconnect with your essence, uncover deep truths, and move forward with clarity and empowerment
  • Energy & Sound Healing – Helps clear emotional blockages, balance the nervous system, and support deep relaxation and inner peace.
  • Breathwork & Nervous System Regulation – Teaches the body how to shift from survival mode into a state of calm, clarity, and presence.

Healing Isn’t About Fixing—It’s About Reclaiming Your Power

You are not broken—you are evolving. Healing isn’t about fixing yourself; it’s about stepping back into your power and learning to feel safe in your own body again.

At Embody Your Essence, I create a space where:

✔️ You are seen, heard, and supported exactly where you are.
✔️Healing happens at your own pace—never forced, never rushed.
✔️ You gain tools for lasting change, not just temporary relief.

Are You Ready to Release & Reclaim?

If you feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm, healing is possible. You don’t have to carry the past alone, and you don’t have to push through it on your own. Let’s connect and explore how trauma-informed healing, EMDR, and somatic practices can support your journey.

Making Friends with Your Nervous System

Making Friends with Your Nervous System

your nervous system is at the center of everything you experience — your energy, your emotions, your health, even your relationships. And when you start to understand how it works, you can stop fighting against it and begin working with it. This is what I call making friends with your nervous system.
