July is the New January

July is the New January

COVID-19 has become a dirty word in my vocabulary. Who else is tired of talking about it?! I am being a little sassy here but truthfully I’m ready to focus my mindset less on what we’ve been through and more on where we are going from here.

The pandemic has indeed left us deeply wounded but we are not broken. We focus much of our conversations on the physical impact of the worldwide health crisis, which goes without saying, but what we don’t talk about is the trail of mental health challenges left behind in its’ wake. Just like the virus, the STRESS being experienced by all of us these past 15 months is real!

Think about it…this is the first time every human being on earth faced the same common enemy. No matter your age, gender, ethnic background, or where you live in the world, nobody could escape the threat. We’ve all suffered the emotional fallout of isolation, living in fear of getting sick, being separated from and losing loved ones, and suffering financial losses and job insecurity. Living with this long-term anxiety can affect our appetites, our sleep patterns, our relationships, and our overall ability to function in everyday life.

But the good news is that we are designed to be resilient beings and we have a choice to consciously create a positive outlook. I choose to focus on hope because I believe we will heal from these circumstances and come out stronger and with a new sense of purpose. Don’t let the stress and the fear paralyze you and hold you back from moving forward. Allow yourself to acknowledge your true feelings about what we have been through together. Be patient and kind to one another as we each find our own way back to the new normal.

I encourage you to use the many tools available to help manage stress and improve overall well-being. Why not look at July as the new January? Set the intention to establish new daily routines to improve your well-being.

  • CREATE SPACE for personal reflection with meditation and/or journaling.
  • CONNECT WITH NATURE to feel more stable, secure and grounded.
  • GET MOVING with exercise by taking a walk, dancing, or practicing yoga.
  • NOURISH YOUR BODY with healthy whole foods to rebuild your immunity.
  • PRACTICE SELF-CARE with a relaxing massage, reiki, chakra clearing, or reflexology.
  • FIND A COMMUNITY of like-hearted people and make meaningful connections and learn new things.

All of these actions will raise your vibration and elevate your life.

Happy Growth and Healing to YouXO,
